ChatGPT on an iPhone makes it better than Google Assistant

Impossible to miss these last few days. ChatGPT, the service that allows everyone to test the OpenAI artificial intelligence engine with an accessible interface, is proving to be a huge success. So much so that even students now rely on this powerful tool to write their essays for them, even if it means confusing their teachers and challenging even secondary education.

Faced with this solution, smartphone manufacturers still offer their own voice assistants. Google Assistant is often the most effective, outperforming Bixby (Samsung) or Siri (Apple). But when we compare them to GPT-3’s, the score is clear: This program is even better than Alphabet’s. A little crafty has therefore thought of integrating it into his mobile phone and the video demonstration is all that is most striking.

Easy to place

In fact, succeed in installing GPT-3 on his iPhone, our handyman of the day simply leveraged the OpenAI commercialized software API. So all you need is some coding skills to be able to do the same on your iOS device. The only flaw, therefore: you will have to pay. The price takes into account the number of requests.

The last step of the process is then to connect GPT-3 to the app Shortcuts from Apple. This allows you to automate actions in connection with other phone applications. Here, for example, the developer has connected his light bulbs to the voice assistant so that he can turn off the light with a simple request. Shortcuts come standard on every Mac, iPad, and iPhone in stores today.

GPT-3 can also be tested for free

However, if you don’t want to checkout, know that you can always test the ChatGPT web version for free. However, this edition does not offer connection with your connected objects or with Shortcuts; only the API can do that. But conversations with AI can still provide clear answers to general knowledge questions and calculations, and even correct text or source code.

Open AI, which feeds GPT-3 with clearnet data, is led by Y Combinator’s Sam Altman. Originally an association, the project is now for profit and also has Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter) and Stephen Hawking among its staunchest supporters.
