Developed by Google LLC, Snapseed is a photo editing app from Google available for Android, iPhone, tablets and PCs. It offers dozens of effects and settings to allow you to give a professional quality to your photos from your smartphone.
This software allows you to open photo files, whether they are JPG or RAW (professional format without loss of quality). It also offers 29 editing functions. With Snapseed you can crop, rotate, change white balance, change contrast, erase elements, add bokeh effects and more.
You can even create effect combinations and save them for reuse. To perfect the touch-up, Snapseed offers you to use its curves for precise edits.

Snapseed is a totally free and ad-free photo editing software from Google that allows you to enhance photos from your smartphone or tablet in seconds.
Why edit a photo?
Photo editing allows you to change the quality parameters of your photos (brightness, tint, white balance, contrast) to improve them. It aims to modify each value of each pixel according to the desired treatment.

To use Snapseed, you have to go through several steps.
Download the Snapseed app: Step 1
First, start by downloading the Snapseed app. Then install it on your phone.
Launch the Snapseed app: 2nd step
Once the application is downloaded, you can launch it. When you launch Snapseed, a screen appears asking you to choose a photo from your gallery. Select the photo you want to edit.
It will open in Snapseed with the treatments accessible at the bottom of the screen. Snapseed can be used in both portrait and landscape mode to adapt to the format of the images to be processed.

At this point, you will have to choose a processing mode between the “STYLES” function and the “TOOLS” function. For simplicity, we recommend using the “STYLES” function.
It consists of a list of 12 creative effects filters whose result you immediately see on your photo. Then simply tap the thumbnail to apply it to your image.
If, on the other hand, you want to carry out a more personalized treatment, you will have to press the TOOLS function.
It offers a list of 28 tools, namely:

You don’t have to master them all. But for each one, tap his name to activate it. Then swipe up and down on the image and choose the setting to edit your photo. To decrease or increase the level of the effect, you have to slide your finger to the right or left. The level slider will appear at the top of the image.
While you don’t need to master all the tools, mastering a few is essential to improving your photo. This is, by the way, the function Retouching which optimizes the typical exposure, light and color settings of the image.
Then there’s the function Twirl which automatically straightens a photo taken sideways (or vice versa). Function Correction allows, for its part, to remove small tasks or small annoying elements. You will also need the function Text which allows you to add text with preset styles on your photos.
When you have made several changes to your photo, Snapseed provides you with powerful tools that allow you to undo a change. IS :
- to cancel: this function allows you to undo the last operation performed;
- repeat (1): this function restores what has just been cancelled;
- repeat (2): this function cancels all changes;
- View changes to an effect: this function allows you to access the complete list of modifications to undo it, modify its area of application and settings.
This set of features allows you to use different tools to test them and add their effects without constraints. At any time, we can go back to it, without having to start all over again.
This is quite a rare asset in photo editing tools. On the other hand, after registering, you lose this possibility of correction. How do I save the image after editing is complete?

When you’re done editing your photo, save the edited photo. To get there, press EXPORT (bottom) or well (in the upper left corner). You will see EXPORT if you opened the application directly. But it is well which will appear if you were on an image and used the icon SPLIT OUT in Snapseed.
With EXPORTyou will be offered three choices:
- split out: this option allows you to transfer the image to another application;
- to record Where is it export : this option automatically saves the image in the same location. There are no differences between the two choices. This may vary by phone model;
- Export as: this option allows you to choose a recording folder and file name.
With WELL, the photo is saved directly to a Snapseed folder. In any case, you are not overwriting the original photo.
